Portimão’s parish council has offered four all-terrain bicycles to the local PSP police force, following the signing of an agreement entitled ‘Polícia de Proximidade’ (Proximity Police) to increase security in the town and lower crime levels.
The bikes are meant to help police agents’ mobility – in other words, allow them to travel quickly around the town and possibly respond to crimes faster than if they were travelling in a car.
