PSP arrests two men for “violent crimes” in Lagos

Both suspects were indicted for committing several robberies, home thefts, coercion and attacks on physical integrity in various locations in the municipality.

Two men aged 21 and 22 were caught in the act this Saturday by the Lagos PSP, accused of committing various violent crimes, namely offences against physical integrity, extortion, robbery and kidnapping.

The PSP explains that it was informed that a crime was in progress and managed to intercept the vehicle in question, inside which the men were accompanied by two people they had attacked and kidnapped, the security force revealed today.

According to the statement from the public security force, “Following this interception, it was confirmed that, inside, there were two citizens taken against their will and deprived of their freedom, who had already been the target of attacks and were coerced into handing over large amounts of money”.

The PSP added that “prohibited weapons and objects stolen from several other victims” were seized from the suspects.

Following police investigations, the authorities managed to indict both suspects for committing several robberies, home thefts, coercion and attacks on physical integrity in various locations in the municipality of Lagos.

The detainees are “suspected of choosing vulnerable targets, especially immigrants, which was causing a strong feeling of insecurity among this community”, concludes the PSP.
