Algarve politician Cristóvão Guerreiro Norte, one of the founders of PSD Algarve and regional MP between 1975 to 1991, died on Monday (November 28) at the age of 78.
In a statement, PSD/Faro described him as a “legendary figure” of regional democracy in the period following the 25 de Abril revolution.
Norte’s son, who shares his name, has followed in his father’s footsteps and is now a PSD MP representing the Algarve.
