Rui Rio or Paulo Rangel? The country should know by tomorrow...

PSD militants choose new leader

Today’s the day PSD militants finally choose their new leader – the man to take them into legislative elections on January 30 (click here). The run-up to these internal elections has been sadly divisive for the only party that could trounce PS Socialists at the polling booths (a prospect that now seems unlikely). CDS-PP, the other traditional centre right party, has been equally affected by an unseemly leadership challenge, reducing its ‘popularity’ even further, according to pollsters. Tomorrow should at least ‘sort out’ the PSD leadership issue as the country braces for an election in a gathering winter that is becoming increasingly problematic
