PSD leader considers infighting in his party to be “an absurdity”

PSD leader Rui Rio has said that the infighting in his party over who should lead it into elections called for January 30 is an ‘absurdity’: “What is happening in the PSD is absurd. To do all this on top of legislative elections is absurd. But then they say that I am afraid of the elections, that I want to suspend democracy. So within this absurdity we have to try to reduce the damages to the maximum, or, put another way, reduce the benefit that the Socialist Part will be getting from all this”… Almost exactly the same kind of acrimonious leadership battle is ongoing within the CDS-PP – which has actually seen a number of leading militants throw in their party memberships in disgust.
