PSD/Faro applauds creation of specialised criminal department

Faro’s social democrats have applauded the government’s decision to set up a special department focusing on complex crimes in the region.
Deeming it “good news” for the Algarve, PSD/ Faro stressed the creation of the new branch of DIAP (Department of Investigation and Penal Action) would significantly improve the sense of security amongst locals as well as tourists.
But the politicians said they are still waiting for the creation of a Court of Appeal in the Algarve – an infrastructure that has been a “fair and ongoing demand of the population” for some time.
The government’s decision to create the new criminal department came as a result of an ongoing reform in the Public Prosecutor’s Office (Ministério Público).
Continuing with its statement of support, PSD/Faro also expressed its “satisfaction that the borough continues to maintain services and delegations of superior interest and public utility”, declaring the capital to be “developed and attractive”.
The politicians even referred to the fact that Faro was recently voted 10th best city in Portugal in a study by Bloom Consulting, reported on last week by the Resident.
