PS Socialists seek to delay SEF extinction by six months

The PS Socialist party – currently in government but facing the prospect of elections in two months time – has sought today to delay its controversial extinction of borders agency SEF by six months: the idea being that if delayed, there will be less trouble policing the borders – a necessity likely to be reinforced due to the acceleration of the pandemic. (As of last week, the Resident can confirm that there was no land border control in evidence between the Algarve and Spain).
