THE SOCIALIST Party (PS) has announced its candidate for the presidency of Faro Câmara in the local elections scheduled to take place this October. José Apolinário will be on the campaign trail, aiming to score more votes than current Faro Câmara President and Social Democrats (PSD) candidate, José Vitorino. In comments made to the media over the last few days, Apolinário declares that his vision for Faro includes the creation of a business park to attract new companies to the city, for Faro to become the emblem of cultural tourism, the urban renovation of downtown Faro and the historic centre, and the revamp of Parque Ribeirinho, the public areas along the waterfront, to name just a few.
