illiCO Obras, a company specialising in finding tradesmen including electricians, plumbers, builders and carpenters, has opened the first branch of the franchise in the Algarve in the popular tourist destination of Albufeira.
Jorge Coelho and João Gaivão will be running illiCO Obras in Albufeira. João Gaivão said: “We chose to open an illiCO Obras office in the Algarve because we believe that the building sector lacks credibility and security for clients.
The company was originally started in France in 2000 and has now been franchised out to Belgium, Luxemburg and in 2009, Portugal.
There are now more than 170 braches of illiCO in Europe, with 11 in Portugal alone.
Camilo Costa, the director of illiCO Obras Portugal, said: “We already have a large presence in the Lisbon area, however our aim at illiCO Obras Portugal is to move into other parts of the country with the Algarve undoubtedly being an important foundation in this expansion.”
Camilo Costa originally brought the franchise to Portugal after he had difficulties finding credible construction companies to carry out work on his own projects.
The service offered by illiCO Obras is free to clients with local brokers responding to requests for tradesmen within 48 hours while the company boasts that “there is always an English speaking
illiCO broker close to your home”.
The new illiCO Obras office can be found at number five Rua do Emigrante.
