Protests in Lisbon

RIVAL GROUPS demonstrating for and against Robert Mugabe and Colonel Gaddafi were kept apart by Portuguese police at Lisbon’s Gare do Oriente Station on Saturday.

Sporting placards with the words ‘Prosecute Mugabe for Genocide’, ‘EU and AU – See No Evil, Hear No Evil of Zimbabwe Abuses’ and ‘Mugabe Kills’.

On the other side of the barricades more peaceful Gaddafi supporters waved posters of the leader while pro-Mugabe ZANU-PF party supporters flown in especially for the purpose, screamed abuses against the United States and United Kingdom and waved posters of a clench-fisted Mugabe with the words ‘Britain Hands off Zimbabwe’.
