Protein discovered that can predict results of chemotherapy

Researchers at Porto University’s i3S (institute of health investigation and innovation) have taken part in a study that has found a protein that enables predicting the effectiveness of chemotherapy in patients with triple negative breast cancer. In a statement today, the institute says the investigation (published in Cell Reports) has opened the doors to the more intelligent use of chemotherapy, which, albeit not effective in all women with breast cancer, is the treatment method most commonly used.
