Prostitution protest

Prostitution along the EN125 is causing a stir among business owners and the Câmara in Albufeira.

Câmara President Desidério Silva has written to the minister of internal affairs requesting that measures be taken to resolve the situation (see the Algarve Resident edition, November 28, 2008).

The issue was also discussed during a Câmara meeting where the President of the Associação de Comércio e Serviços (ACOSAL), the association of commerce and services, Luís Alexandre said that the activity was giving the council “a bad image”.

Desidério Silva told Portuguese newspaper, Correio da Manhã: “This problem isn’t just felt in Albufeira but across the entire Algarve.”
