Proof of insurance “no longer needed to be fixed on car windscreens”

From tomorrow, the proof of insurance previously required to be ‘stuck’ to the side of car windscreens will be no longer necessary. Drivers will still be required to carry all their car documents in the car with them at all times, but the fiddly process of changing tiny squares of paper every year and fitting them into a plastic envelope stuck to the windscreen will no longer be required – nor will fines for not having displayed this information be applicable.
