Promoting good food in Algarve

Fifteen members of the Chaine des Rôtisseurs met for their monthly dinner at the Michelin starred Willies Restaurant in Vilamoura on February 17.

After cocktails especially created by the bar staff, members enjoyed an amuse gueule followed by a cannelloni of Gravlax Salmon with caviar. Then came a consommé of mushroom with quail ravioli and the main course was pink pan-fried duck breast.

The courses were rounded off by Chef Willie Wurger’s piece de resistance, a warm chocolate soufflé with a white mocha parfait.

The Chaine des Rôtisseurs is an international organisation of lovers of good food and wine, to which Portugal is affiliated, and the Algarve Bailliage is an active part.

In addition to the local diners, members are welcome to participate at events organised by other Bailliages anywhere in the world, as was witnessed by two German members joining in this event.

All profits will be distributed to charities through the Chaine Foundation.

Next month, there will be a dinner in the Algarve on March 9 and a weekend in the Alentejo on March 23-25.
