Professionals at Porto’s São João Hospital request “recognition”

More than 1,000 professionals at Porto’s São João Hospital have sent a letter to the President of the Republic and health authorities requesting “recognition” for the way in which the hospital managed the pandemic, ensuring that non-Covid patients were not prejudiced (as they have been almost everywhere else). As Rui Vaz director of neurosurgery explains, “there was a 50% reduction in the number of surgeries performed, but all urgent cases, particularly involving cancer patients, were resolved”.
