MORE THAN 100 ladies of the international community were invited by Jean Buck, wife of the British Ambassador, to their residence to join a coffee morning that was part of something big – the Macmillan Cancer Relief World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event, held on September 30 around the globe!
The aim was to raise awareness of the work carried out by the Macmillan Cancer Relief nurses and staff, and to raise much needed funds for the worthy charity. Everyone attending was asked to make a donation and 1,450 euros was raised.
Jean welcomed the guests and informed them of the excellent work of the Macmillan Cancer Relief organisation, which provides tremendous support in all aspects of care, nursing help and advice to cancer sufferers and their families. The charity also organises holidays for sufferers and their families, which are funded from generous public donations.
