Boavista Golf in Lagos, which has been open since January 2002, has appointed its first club professional. Paul Tipper, who has many years of experience in the Algarve golfing community, is joining the club at the beginning of March to take charge of Boavista’s driving range and academy. Paul, who speaks English, Portuguese and German, has previously held teaching professional posts at Carvoeiro Golf and Sheraton Pine Cliffs Resort, as well as working as golf director at the Biblis Golf Club in Wattenheim, Germany.
Phillip Pope, Boavista resort’s managing director, said: “We have been very meticulous in our search for the right person to fill this post and in Paul we are certain we have found the right man. He is an excellent teacher, has strong links with the Portuguese PGA and his services are sure to be in great demand.”
