Private doctors ‘come to rescue’ of Algarve state hospitals

Algarve’s private health group HPA has “come to the rescue” of regional state hospitals by providing the services of its paediatricians and neonatologists in a bid to help the local health service deal with the chronic shortage of staff.

The decision was spurred by the group’s desire to assure adequate healthcare to children in the region. The agreement will remain in place until the end of the year, as HPA believes that “the regional hospital board will find a solution until then”.
