AMERICA’S DEPARTMENT of defence, the Pentagon, has announced that Osama Bin Laden’s former driver is to be moved from the US detention centre in Guantanamo Bay to his native Yemen to serve the remainder of his sentence.
Salim Hamdan was given a 66 month sentence in August for providing material support to terrorism. He was the first detainee sentenced by a US military commission and his imprisonment is due to end on December 28, taking into account time already served.
