UNLIMITED NUMBERS of condoms are being given away for free at health centres throughout the country to help prevent unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.
Jorge Branco, director of the Alfredo Costa maternity ward in Lisbon, said: “The objective of distributing free condoms is to stop unwanted pregnancies and avoid sexually transmitted diseases, which are a threat to all ages.”
To receive the free contraceptive, you must be registered with the health centre and attend a family planning appointment once a year.
