Famous for his unscripted outbursts, the president of the regional government of Madeira has had a dig at the mediocrity of today’s politicians, declaring them to be incapable of dealing with Portugal’s problems – or indeed of understanding that Madeira has to run on debt in order to develop.
Speaking at the PSD/ Madeira summer conference, Alberto João Jardim also lambasted the EU for being “too hard” on countries.
