Roberta Metsola, president of the European Parliament, will be in Portugal next week to take part in the Council of State convened by President Marcelo. She will also be taking part in a debate in the Assembly of the Republic (Portuguese parliament), on the invitation of speaker Augusto Santos Silva. Says Expresso, this will be the first time that a high-ranking representative of European institutions will take part in a debate, “answering interventions and questions of MPs”.
