People’s president Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa used Liberty Day on Tuesday to appeal for “more transparency, and quicker, more efficient political power to prevent populist movements”. Reports on his speech which did not receive applause from left-wingers that brought the PS government to power, stressed that Marcelo has said there needs to be much greater growth in the final years of this administration and better distribution of wealth.
