Marking International Roma Day today, President of the Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa has called on citizens not to forget the Roma community in the current context of crisis, warning of its vulnerable situation due to lack of representation and discrimination. “At a time when the country and the world are facing multiple crises, with direct economic and social consequences in the lives of our compatriots, we cannot forget those whose situation is perhaps more vulnerable, due to lack of representation, discrimination and difficulty of integration,” reads a message posted on the official website of the Presidency of the Republic.
