President Marcelo has congratulated Liz Braz, the Portuguese-descendant candidate elected to Luxembourg’s parliament in yesterday’s elections. Braz, 27, who ran for the Luxembourg Socialist Workers’ Party , is the daughter of Portuguese Félix Braz, a former minister for justice and deputy minister of the Grand Duchy, who left politics for health reasons. “This election confirms the growing importance of the Portuguese and Portuguese-descendant community in Luxembourg,” said Portugal’s president. Lusa adds that Félix Braz’s family hailed from Castro Marim, in the Algarve
