Monchique town hall and Safe Communities Algarve have joined together to hold a seminar on preparing for the wildfire season on June 30 at the Casino das Caldas de Monchique from 4pm to 7pm.
Attending will be the Civil Protection, the GNR, the firefighters and a municipal vet. Topics being covered include communication with the emergency services, monitoring the outbreak and spread of forest fires, protecting your property and yourselves, rescue and evacuation, and dealing with animals and pets.
“This seminar will be based on real life experiences, using file archives and the lessons learned from these. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions,” said David Thomas from Safe Communities Algarve.
The seminar will be in Portuguese and English and entrance is free.
