Pre-school children from Carvoeiro took the town’s tourist train to Lagoa on December 12 to place Christmas gifts for needy children under the ‘Tree of Love’ at Galeria Arte Algarve.
The school trip, organised by teachers and parents in association with the Carvoeiro Parish Council, aimed to teach children the importance of helping others.
Rolf Osang from Galeria Arte Algarve at the Lagoa winery welcomed the group of more than 40 children, teachers and parents, who had the opportunity to see the various art on show at the impressive 1,400m2 exhibition hall.
Children were then treated to refreshments as they placed their Christmas gifts under the tree.
This year, presents will be donated to the Bom Samaritano children’s home in Alvor.
