Pre-historical visit

A centre informing people about the megalithic monuments of Alcalar, Portimão, has already been visited by more than 1,500 people since it opened in March.

The Alcalar Interpretation Centre takes visitors 5,000 years back in time, providing them with the opportunity to learn more about the site’s prehistoric heritage.

Co-managed by Portimão Câmara and the Regional Directorate of Culture in the Algarve, the centre can be visited from Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 4.30pm. Entry costs €2 per person. Call 282471410
