Praia da Rocha in Portimão was the Portuguese beach with the most ‘check-ins’ on Facebook this summer, closely followed by Praia de Albufeira.
For those unfamiliar with these technologies, ‘checking in’ is something users of the social network can do on their smartphones when they arrive at a certain location.
And Praia da Rocha was actually no.1 on a top-30 list of Portugal’s beach locations.
Albufeira Beach ran a close second while Quarteira’s Praia da Falésia came in fourth. The list also includes Praia de Armação de Pêra (11th), Praia de Lagos (17th), and Praia de Cabanas de Tavira ( 25th).
