A Portuguese woman who for seven years used fake doctors’ notes to receive sick leave payments from the Social Security has been ordered by the Court of Oliveira de Azeméis to pay back the €75,000 she received illegally. She was also sentenced to four years’ suspended prison sentence.
Maria Costa, 50, would lie about her health to obtain the doctors’ note while still working and receiving a salary.
