Portuguese wines among €780 million-worth exported to Angola

Angola is becoming a major importer of wines, with Portugal reaping much of the €780 million-worth of benefits.
Drawing to a close now in Luanda is the 2nd Angola Wine Festival where the man-in-charge, Miguel Pinho, has been explaining the importance of Portuguese wines to the growing market.
Portugal represents the majority of exhibitors at the show, with wines from Chile, South Africa and Italy also being showcased.
Talking to Lusa, Pinho stressed that Angola is now so interested in wines that it is developing its own, which should be ready to show the world next year.
“Our intention is to value what is national, made-in-Angola, and in 2015 we may well have this representation at the festival,” he told Lusa.
