Portuguese supervised by University of Coimbra

International School São Lourenço (ISSL) has signed a protocol with the University of Coimbra, by which the Faculty of Portuguese Language has consented to set and supervise the standards to be achieved by both the Portuguese and international children attending the school.

This prestigious new relationship is a further reinforcement of the school’s policy to provide the very best in education, a policy guided and driven by the goals of an ambitious Excellence & Innovation Programme.

This programme is moving ISSL beyond its traditionally high benchmarks to new levels of quality education.

From interactive whiteboard technologies to improvement and evaluation programmes for teachers, to assessment and target setting for the students, the school is embracing the very latest tools and educational techniques.

New teaching staff allow a greater range of choice in subjects taught for IGCSE and A-Levels while the new Learning Support Department introduces specialists in providing assistance for all levels of ability.

Outside of class, the extra-curricular activities available are wide ranging. Dance and ballet are new highlights for this winter term.

The Distinguished Speakers Club gives students a chance to meet and learn from prominent people who have made notable contributions in their field of endeavor.
