Portuguese startup launches new wine tourism app

A Portuguese startup company has launched a new wine tourism app called ‘Alle Wine’ which it hopes will bolster the country’s wine tourism sector.

The app was officially launched on Saturday (November 6) in Lisbon at a national wine congress entitled ‘Encontro de Vinhos’.

In a nutshell, the app aims to allow wine lovers to discover what Portugal has to offer in terms of wines and wineries.

“Alle Wine app is a unique digital platform that combines our profound knowledge of local vintners and hospitality professionals with the traveller’s profile. It suggests memorable itineraries for both the apprentice or the most discerning connoisseur,” the app’s website reads.

Explains Alle Wine founder and CEO, António Pé-Curto: “Portugal already has world-class wine tourism units; however, many are not promoted enough or operating swiftly enough to attract international wine tourists.”

Co-founder Marta Vendeira says that there is often a missing link between tourists looking for wine experiences and winemakers looking to provide them.
“Alle Wine aims to cater to this need, allowing (tourists) to locate, select and book their wine tourism experience in a simple and immediate way through the app,” she adds.

Ana Pinto, another co-founder, highlights that the team worked “very thoroughly” to visit the country’s wine tourism units in person and ensure that each wine tourism unit featured in the app “will meet tourists’ expectations”.

Alle Wine is available to download for iOS and Android devices.
