As expected, more money was spent during the Christmas season this year than in 2014. Purchases made through Portugal’s Multibanco ATM system between November 23 and December 27 reached €3.7 million, a 7.3% increase compared to last year. The amount of money withdrawn from ATM machines was also 1.4% higher, totalling €2.8 million.
