A Portuguese civil protection team flew to Haiti on Friday, January 15 to offer support to the large number of refugees staying in shelters in the country.
The emergency team flew in an Air Force C-130 aircraft and included a team from the civil protection command, doctors, nurses and firemen, who will be providing civilian and military disaster relief and humanitarian assistance.
The aircraft was loaded with tents, portable toilets, showers, electrical generators, sheets, blankets, cooking kits and personal hygiene kits.
