CELEBRATED PORTUGUESE jazz singer, Jacinta, based in San Francisco Bay in the US, will be performing songs from her new album Daydream at Faro’s municipal theatre, on January 27.
Jacinta is critically acclaimed for her warm, velvety and powerful voice. Well-known New York jazz critic, Peter Eldridge, was recently quoted as saying: “Jacinta sings from her soul with a joy that is completely contagious, treating every song she sings with respect.”
Daydream was recorded in New York and produced by saxophonist Greg Osby. It includes pieces by Thelonious Monk, Tom Jobim, Djavan and José Afonso.
At the Faro concert, Jacinta will be accompanied by Diogo Vida on piano, by Zé Pedro on saxophone, by Rodrigo Monteiro on double bass and by João Cunha on drums.
