THE NUMBER of Portuguese working in Spain and signed up to the Spanish social security system has topped 75,000.
According to the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in Spain, 75,307 Portuguese prefer to work in Portugal’s larger neighbour. The increase in the number of Portuguese at 1.3 per cent was the highest of all foreign workers in Spain, which totals 1,947,809. Of this number, 12 per cent are Portuguese citizens.
