Dr Peter Booker and Professor Trevor Haywood will be presenting a series of illustrated talks on Portuguese history at the Vila Sol Hotel in Vilamoura, on alternate Wednesdays at 6.30pm.
The series starts on February 7, when Dr Booker will be speaking about Henry the Navigator, followed by:

March 7: The Portuguese empires.
March 21: D Afonso Henriques.
April 4: The Marquis of Pombal.
April 18: The Royal House of Burgundy.
May 2: The effects of the 1755 Earthquake in the Algarve.
May 16: The Royal House of Avis.
May 30: Brazil, the second empire.
June 13: The French invasions.
June 27: Portugal in the first and second World Wars.
