Portugal’s BA Glass is to invest over €1 billion in its 12 factories in the next five years, €150 million of which in Romania, according to data released today by State Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade, AICEP. The Romania investment plans involve two new state-of-the-art furnaces in Bucharest and a 25,000 square metre warehouse. BA Glass is the largest producer of glass packaging and bottles in Portugal. Formerly known as Barbosa & Almeida, it is now the only glass packaging manufacturer in Romania, producing about two million bottles a day, and aiming, with its new investments, to double production capacity in the next three years.
