Portuguese farmers received €830 million in support funding last year.
The information has been confirmed by the Ministry of Agriculture, which said that most of the money (€721 million) came from the EU’s partially-funded rural development programme PRODER, while an additional €110 million was directly provided by the government’s State budget.
