A freak accident has killed a Portuguese couple who emigrated to America from the Azores in search of a better life. Manuela and Franklin Teixeira were driving in a snowstorm in Massachusetts when a tree fell on top of their BMW on Sunday morning. The couple who ran two cafés in the area both died in hospital. Their local Portuguese community is described as in shock.
