Trafficking || A 37-year-old Portuguese woman was arrested last week by Venezuelan authorities after she tried to board a Lisbon-bound flight at Caracas Airport with four kilos of cocaine glued to her body.
Airport sources told Lusa news agency that the authorities found 20 packets filled with cocaine glued to the woman’s abdominal area and legs as she attempted to board the TAP flight.
The woman, who has been named as Carla Sofia Pereira Baptista, now faces as much as 25 years in jail, says Lusa, citing Venezuelan laws.
Richard López Vargas from Venezuela’s military police GNB explained that foreigners are increasingly being recruited by drug lords for trafficking.
