A spokesman for the Portuguese Chamber said: “In view of the recent IMF bailouts, Dr Portas is in a unique position to comment on Portugal’s future in Europe and we anticipate a lively and very informative speech from him.”

Tickets to the black tie function that begins at 7.15pm cost £130 for Chamber members and their guests and also for members of the Anglo Portuguese Society, the Centro Português de Estudos and the Portuguese Business Network.
