Portuguese Chamber gala in London

Portugal’s minister for foreign affairs, Dr Paulo Sacadura Cabral Portas, will be the principal speaker and guest of honour at the Portuguese Chamber’s 2011 fund-raising gala dinner at the Royal Automobile Club in London on October 12.

The dinner will also see the Ambassador for Portugal, João de Vallera, attending while Dr Carlos Davis Duarte de Almeida, the chief executive officer of Banif bank, will be introducing the minister at the event.

A spokesman for the Portuguese Chamber said: “In view of the recent IMF bailouts, Dr Portas is in a unique position to comment on Portugal’s future in Europe and we anticipate a lively and very informative speech from him.”

Tickets to the black tie function that begins at 7.15pm cost £130 for Chamber members and their guests and also for members of the Anglo Portuguese Society, the Centro Português de Estudos and the Portuguese Business Network.
