Portuguese boy band D.A.M.A to perform at Lagos New Year

Portuguese boy band D.A.M.A. has been announced as the headliner of Lagos’ New Year party.

Lagos has been establishing itself as one of the best New Year destinations in the Algarve, attracting prestigious musical acts such as Portuguese rock legends Xutos e Pontapés last year.

This year it will be Portuguese band D.A.M.A. taking the stage at 10.30pm on New Year’s Eve (December 31).

In the last two years alone, the group has performed over 300 concerts all over Portugal and taken part in some of the country’s biggest festivals such as MEO SW and Rock in Rio.

The trio (Francisco Maria Pereira, Miguel Coimbra and Miguel Cristovinho) has released three studio albums containing several radio hits such as ‘Não Dá’ and ‘Era Eu’.

Their concert at Praça do Infante will be followed by a firework display along the town’s waterfront at midnight.

The party continues at 12.15am with Meninos da Vadiagem, a group of DJs who promise to keep the party going late into the night.

All shows will be free.

Albufeira is the other Algarve town that has already announced its programme for New Year. Known for hosting one of the most popular end-of-year parties in Portugal, the town will welcome Xutos e Pontapés and singing sensation Agir as its high-profile musical guests this year (click here).
