A Portuguese Air Force C-295M plane taking part in the latest Frontex operation over the Mediterranean Sea spotted 10 boatloads of migrants “trying to reach Spain illegally” in just one day. According to reports, the boats contained a total of 182 people which had to be rescued and are now being held by the authorities in camps. It has not been made clear where exactly the immigrants are being held.
Portuguese planes will be taking part in Operation INDOLO17 until the end of November.
Sources have not explained that migrant routes are still very active, possibly due to this year’s unusually warm temperatures.
