Portugal’s Wednesday Covid bulletin: incidence up slightly, Rt back to 1

Portugal’s Wednesday Covid bulletin shows incidence in mainland Portugal up slightly to 66.5 cases per 100,000 (69.5 if the archipelagos of Madeira and Azores are included) and transmission (Rt) up again to 1, from 0.99. There were three deaths, 572 new cases tested in mass testing against 576 pronounced recovered – and hospital numbers are down further to 332 in general Covid wards, 88 in intensive care. The highest number of new cases was registered in the north (+261) and this is where all three deaths took place. All other regions, bar Lisbon on +186 have very low ‘new case counts’ as the country prepares to enter the final stage of deconfinement on Monday.
