Portugal’s vaccination roll-out has 5,379 ‘adverse reactions’

Portugal’s accelerating vaccination roll-out has so far flagged 5,379 adverse reactions: 2,997 of which were considered ‘not serious’, 2,328 of which were ‘serious (not fatal)’ and 34 of which were ‘serious (fatal)’. This is the way medicines authority INFARMED describes incidents, insisting that the “notifications of deaths taking place post-vaccination demonstrated no direct causal relationship with the vaccine administered”. In the main they were “cases occurring in old people presenting more fragile conditions of health (some with diverse comorbidities)”.
