Portugal’s prime minister has played down differences between the governments of European Union member states and those in Latin America regarding the war in Ukraine, saying that “it is a sign that the world is diverse” that they do not agree on everything. “It is important that, above all, we work together,” he said. “The more we do that, the more differences will be blurred”. Mr Costa was speaking on the sidelines of the EU-CELAC summit (a gathering of EU, Latin American and Caribbean leaders) due to conclude today in Brussels.
