Portugal’s luxury car fair sees all three Ferraris on show “under offer”

In a refreshing sign of the times, Portugal’s luxury Salão de Automóvel luxury car show in FIL this year has seen all three Ferraris present under offer – despite coming in at a combined price of just under a million euros. According to the Portuguese automobile association, Ferrari, Lambourghini and Maserati have all seen sales in Portugal more than double this year, compared to 2013.

This year, for example, Ferrari sold no less than 16 models by September. Maserati did even better, selling 24, when the year before it sold only three cars, and in 2012 and 2013 it sold none at all.

This year’s show at FIL, opening every day until next Sunday (week days from 3pm to 11pm, weekends from 10am) has seen Ferrari’s F12 Berlinetta, costing €380,000 “getting a lot of attention”, while the Aston Martin and Jaguar stands have a list of reservations taken from interested buyers, reports Correio da Manhã.

The show also presents hybrids and ecological vehicles, and has a number of special offers this year that see hefty discounts on some models, and service/ maintenance benefits for others.

As CM explains, some of the hybrids for the future have to be seen to be believed.

The Volkswagen XL1 for example – the world’s most fuel-efficient vehicle, running for 100km on less than a litre of fuel – has ceramic brakes and has never before been shown in Portugal.
