With all eyes on Christmas in just over a week’s time, and what Portugal will be allowed to do, latest Covid statistics bring a mixed bag of news, with another high death count.
In total, 87 patients died in the last 24-hours, though the numbers of people interned in hospital reduced for the third day running.
Numbers in ICUs however are slightly up, while the total number of new cases is again high bearing in mind all the restrictions in place in areas of high risk.
Recoveries stand at 3,309 since yesterday – but with 4,320 new cases, the upshot is another climb in the active case total, now pegged at 69,686.
